Injured farmer Pritpal referred to PGI Chandigarh

A Punjab farmer, Pritpal Singh who sustained injuries during the "Dilli Chalo" protest March was on Saturday shifted to the PGI, Chandigarh, on his father's request. After examining his condition, a PGI Rohtak Medical Board set up to examine his condition recommended referring the patient to PGI Chandigarh, sources said. The Punjab Chief Secretary, Anurag Verma who on Saturday wrote to his Haryana counterpart Sanjeev Kaushal, asking to handover a Punjab farmer who is undergoing treatment in Rohtak, has also been informed by the Haryana
Government.
Sources said that the Haryana Government has conveyed to the Punjab Chief Secretary that the patient was referred to PGI Chandigarh on his father's request much before he took up the matter with his Haryana counterpart, Sanjeev Kaushal.
In the letter, Verma had said it has come to notice that Pritpal Singh, a farmer from Punjab who was injured during the 'Dilli Chalo' protest march, is undergoing treatment at the PGI Rohtak.
"You are requested to handover Pritpal Singh to Punjab authorities so that his treatment may be done in Punjab free of cost by the Punjab Government," the letter added.
