Renowned scholar Padma Shri Jaggi pays tributes to Surjit Pattar

Renowned Sikh scholar Padma Shri Dr. Ratan Singh Jaggi paying rich tributes to eminent poet and his former student Dr. Surjit Patar, said that the passing away of Surjit Patar has created a void in the literary world which would never be filled.
In his condolence message to the family of Dr. Surjit Patar, Dr. Jaggi has written that," Dr. Surjit Patar was a towering litterateur of today's era and his demise has left a void in the literary realm which can never be filled. His passing away is a big loss for Punjab and the entire country apart from his family. What could be bigger for a teacher to be identified from the achievements of his students".
Dr. Jaggi further said that besides being a great poet Dr. Surjit Patar from his student days was adorned with the qualities of humbleness and possessed down to earth demeanor. Even after attaining immense popularity, Surjit Patar remained a humble human being of which he himself (Dr. Jaggi) is the witness. Surjit Patar always championed the cause of Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat in his writings,
added Dr. Jaggi.
Sharing the grief of bereaved family, Dr. Jaggi prayed to the Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and courage to the family, literary world and his numerous admirers to bear this loss.
