DW BUREAU / Samrala Law and order will be maintained at all costs in police district of Khanna. No one will be allowed to break the law. This has been stated by Digvijay Kapil, SP (Headquarters) police district Khanna, while talking to this reporter. He was here to inspect the deployment of police force which was put on alert while the dharna by the Bharti Kisan Union in front of Powercom office at village Ghulal Xen's office. He said during the kisan dharnas in police district Khanna every thing has gone smoothly in this district. No untoward incident had been reported, he said. On the call given by the state body of the Bharti Kisan Union (Sidhupur) farmers staged a massive dharna in front of the office of Executive Engineer, Samrala against the poor power supply for the seasonal crops and blocked the traffic at the G T Road. The traffic remained disrupted for almost three hours. The SP Headquarters police district Khanna and Kanwal Preet Singh, Additional Superintending Engineering of Samrala division, assured all help of power supply during this hot wave. The farmers demanded that all the hanging loose wires in the field should be set in order to avoid any untoward incident. They also demanded that power supply must be compensated in case of power cuts. Er Sidhu assured all cooperation in this regard to the farmers.
