Government committed to improving infrastructure of cities: Balkar Singh

To fulfill this objective, Local government Minister Balkar Singh said that various development works are being carried out on a war footing to improve the infrastructure of State Cities. Providing this information during the meeting held at the Municipal Bhawan here today, Local Government Minister Balkar Singh mentioned that projects under Swachh Bharat Mission-1 and 2, AMRUT Mission, Tranche-3-AMRUT, MDF PIDB, and various ongoing projects under the 15th Finance Commission will be completed. This will prepare the state s cities infrastructure according to the needs of modern times, benefiting every citizen. Minister of Local Government, Balkar Singh conducted review meeting with Senior Officials of Head Office and Field Offices in the presence of NRI affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO, MLAs and Halka Incharges from various constituencies. Minister took the progress report of various development works, and instructed the concerned officials to ensure timely completion, quality, and transparency. After obtaining information about allocated funds, funds spent, and outstanding funds of various projects, the Cabinet Minister emphasized that the completion of development works will lead to success in providing better civic facilities to the residents of the state. Balkar Singh mentioned that ensuring constituency MLAs participation in various projects is being done to carry out development work in line with the common people s needs in the state. He added that detailed information about development works and available funds is provided to the concerned MLAs. During the meeting, the Local Government Minister also urged officials to pay special attention to sewerage and other cleanliness in their area. Likewise, efforts should be made to repair street lights, make ponds and parks green and beautiful, and enhance the appearance of respective cities to be more beautiful and clean.
