Credibility of EC, judiciary being eroded, alleges Yechury

On the 8 years of the Modi led BJP government Comrade Sitaram Yechury, national general secretary of CPM said that the credibility of constitutional autonomous organisations like the Election Commission and Judiciary are being deliberately eroded. He explained how the muslims are under attack as a community. He expressed serious concern over increasing hate speech politics which is damaging the social fabric of the country.
A meeting to mark the 14th death anniversary of Comrade Harkishan Singh Surjeet was organised in Chandigarh today. Comrade Sitaram Yechury, General Secretary, CPI(M) led the participants in paying floral tributes at his portrait. He also inaugurated Comrade Harkishan Singh Surjeet Memorial Library at Bhakna Bhawan Complex. While addressing the gathering he said that the nation is celebrating 75 years of independence and how communists have played a historic role in the freedom struggle.He also said that all State level & national level communist leaders remained in jail for various terms . Comrade Harkishan Singh Surjeet brought down the Union Jack and unfurled the Tricolour on the Collector's office at Hoshiarpur at the age of 16. Comrade A. K. Gopalan unfurled the Tricolour in prison in the midnight of 14 & 15 August, 1947. We must motivate and encourage the youth to follow the courage & patriotism of Comrades Surjeet and Gopalan while celebrating the 75 years of independence.
Comrade Sukhwinder Singh Sekhon, State Secretary CPI(M) Punjab , former union minister Balwant Singh Ramowalia and Comrade Bant Brar State Secretary of CPI along with others addressed the function.
