To further accelerate the pace of revenue and employment generation along with other multiple direct and indirect benefits, the Chamber of Chandigarh Industries (CCI), the apex body of industrial units in the City Beautiful, has sought the implementation of MSME Act in the city, one time VAT settlement for industries and withdrawal of building violation and misuse notices to industrial unit owners.
Surinder Gupta, CCI president, said: "The implementation of MSME Act in Chandigarh will give a big boost to local industries. It has been a long pending demand of ours. The Chandigarh Administration must respond to our demands favourably. It will help us contribute significantly to make India a $ 5 trillion economy and in ease of doing business as has been envisioned by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi."
"Also the city's industries should be given the relief through one time VAT settlement, which has become a major issue for us ever since the GST came into force. It should be done in a time bound manner as the earliest to give much needed relief to the industrial units," added Gupta.
Abhishek Verma, General Secretary, CCI, said that the withdrawal of building violation & misuse notices to industrial unit owners were agreed upon in the meeting held on 27-04-2022 under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioner, U.T., Chandigarh.
