In celebration of World Book Day, University School of Allied Health Sciences (USAHS) of Rayat Bahra University organised a Blood Donation Camp, underscoring the significance of both literacy and healthcare in society. The event aimed to promote the spirit of social responsibility among students and faculty members. To coincide with the celebration of World Book Day, an exhibition of medical books was organised by Sakshi Bahl, Librarian at RBU.

The camp was organised in collaboration with Shree Shiv Kanwar Mahasangh Charitable Trust, Panchkula, and Punjab Red Cross, Branch, Chandigarh, alongside the team of Transfusion Medicine from Government Multi-specialty Hospital, Sector 16.

The camp was inaugurated by Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Vice-Chancellor, Dr Parvinder Singh, and Dr RC Sobti, former VC of Panjab University. Chancellor himself donated blood at the camp.

Dr Pankaj Kaul, Dean of University School of Allied Health Sciences, said there was overwhelming response from both students and faculty with more than 53 individuals donating blood. Registrar of RBU Dr Dinesh Sharma also donated blood at the camp.

Chancellor Bahra and VC Dr Parvinder Singh commended the donors and organisers for their efforts in organising the camp.
