44 licenses issued for sale of firecrackers in the town

DW BUREAU / Mohali A committee constituted by Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Girish Dayalan to issue 44 temporary licenses to the people for sale of firecrackers in District SAS Nagar on Thursday held a draw for issuing licenses Adopting a transparent and fair approach, the draw was conducted in the presence of the general public. After the draw, the Deputy Commissioner said that the administration had received a total of 771 applications for 44 licenses across the district out of which 770 were found valid. He said that 497 applications were received for 18 licenses for sale of firecrackers in Mohali and Banur, 54 applications were received for 8 licenses for sale of firecrackers in Kharar among other areas.
