DW BUREAU / chandigarh The Department of Tourism, Chandigarh Administration celebrated Lohri Festival with Special Children on Wednesday at Aashrey Home, Sector 47D, Chandigarh with a lot of enthusiasm and by following the Covid-19 protocol. The Chief Guest of the celebration was Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh along with his wife. Arun Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary Home-cum-Tourism, Chandigarh Administration, Nitika Pawar, Director Tourism, Chandigarh Administration and Dr. Jasbinder Kaur, Director Principal, GMCH, Sector 32, Chandigarh has also graced the occasion. The function started with the traditional welcome of the Chief Guest with Punjabi Boliyaan, Dholi and Punjabi Folk Songs. It was a gala day for the special children. The bonfire, a key feature of Lohri, was kept alight throughout the celebration, lighting up the spirit of joy, happiness and togetherness. Even as the festival ended, the moments spent in the festival would be some of the most enjoyable memories. Manoj Parida, Adviser to the Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh distributed blankets, water campers and sweets to the special children to make the occasion special for the children of Aashrey Home.
