category Regional, chandigarh, , tags Regional, chandigarh, , DW BUREAU Chandigarh Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr. Sanjeev Kaushal has urged the officers to prepare schemes on scientific studies for the overall development of women and children of the state. The Chief Secretary stated this while presiding over the meeting of the State Level Convergence Committee under the Nutrition Campaign of the Women and Child Development Department here today. He urged the officers to conduct district-wise scientific studies for which services of universities can also be utilized. Kaushal said that the Government of India launched Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 to reorganize existing scheme components into primary verticals. The focus areas include maternal nutrition, dietary standards for children and youth, prevention of severe and rapid malnutrition through Ayush s wellness centers, and capacity-building efforts. It also includes the enhancement of Anganwadi Infrastructure, such as modern and upgraded Saksham Anganwadi centers. Special attention will be given to addressing anemia among pregnant women and children. He said that the programme aims to ensure effective implementation through convergence, governance, and capacity-building. He directed department officers to set targets and ensure their timely achievement. Kaushal emphasized the need for the department to prepare booklets and videos showcasing the implemented achievements for women and children. These resources should be widely distributed to reach the public, enabling people to follow them and improve their health. He said that the nutrition development schemes will be reviewed in detail in the next meeting in the month of June. It was apprised in the meeting that Under Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 scheme, the Scheme for Adolescent Girls has been revised and the targeted beneficiaries have been revised to Adolescent Girls in the age group of 14 to 18 years in the Aspirational district Mewat. As many as 24743 beneficiaries have been identified consisting of 84 out-of-school girls and 24,659 school-going girls. (editor dailyworld.in)
