Masks made by jail inmates given to teachers

A novel project of distribution of face masks, which have been manufactured at Central Jail here, in the wake of pandemic COVID-19, was launched about one and half years back by Justice Rajan Gupta, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court-cum-Chairman of the Jails Committee.
The above project has been conceptualized under the esteemed leadership of Justice Rajan Gupta with a motive to provide protective gear to the needy quarters by utilizing the existing infrastructure and manpower available in the jails.
The project has been implemented by the district judiciary in Patiala in association with the jail authorities. Under this project face masks used as personal protection equipment are being manufactured by jail inmates of Central Jail and today face masks were provided to Principals and teachers of Government High School Gandhi Nagar, Government High School Pippal Kheri, Government Senior Secondary School, Old Police Line and Government High School, Manjal Kalan by Rajinder Aggarwal, District and Sessions Judge cum Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, with collaboration of NGOs Global Human Services and Human Rights Organization.
On this occasion, Monica Sharma, Civil Judge (Senior Division), Amit Malhan, Additional Civil Judge(Senior Division), Parminder Kaur, Secretary-cum-CJM, District Legal Services Authority, Patiala, Bishan Dass, President, Global Human Services and Inderpreet Singh, President, Human Rights Organization/PLV were also present.
