DW Bureua | Chandigarh, August 13: Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator Gulab Chand Kataria on Thursday unveiled the official T-shirt, medal and poster for the GB Legends 'Lake to Lake Ultra 2026', formally launching the upcoming endurance running event. The ultra-running event, scheduled for August 16, will feature 30 km, 55 km and 75 km categories and is expected to attract nearly 550 runners and endurance enthusiasts from across India. A special 50-plus age category has also been introduced.

The race will start at 4 am from New Lake, Sector 42, Chandigarh, and take participants through the Shivalik foothills before concluding at Tikkar Taal in Morni. Jatinder Bajwa, Vice President, GB Realty, said the event was being held around Independence Day with the vision of making it an annual event promoting a "Fit, Healthy and United India". Harpreet Singh Sandhu, State Information Commissioner, Punjab, who was also present at the unveiling ceremony, said the event would promote sporting excellence, while the association with GB Legends as Event Partner would further strengthen its vision.

Amit Sood, CEO, GB Legends, said ultra-running promotes discipline, resilience and determination and expressed hope that the event would encourage endurance sports, active lifestyles and a culture of fitness. Amit Chauhan, Chairman, Organising Committee, said the 'Lake to Lake Ultra' was more than a race and represented a celebration of endurance, determination and the spirit of India. The organisers said the event also aims to promote Chandigarh and the Morni-Shivalik region as destinations for sports, adventure and eco-tourism while encouraging healthier lifestyles. The Bib Expo will be held on August 15, a day ahead of the main race.
