Mumbai, June 8 : Actor Shekhar Suman, who is cooking up a storm with his new chat show, is getting bolder with each passing day. This time around, the actor fired shots at self-proclaimed Godmen, and said how every few years a new Godman emerges, and people go to them in full awareness, and allow the godmen to make a fool out of themselves.

The actor spoke with IANS during the promotions of his recently released streaming show â??The Pyramid Schemeâ?? along with Ranvir Shorey, Shreyansh Pandey and Paramvir Cheema.

Shekhar told IANS, â??The saints, Baba ji, Fakir, not all, but many, they fool people, make them blind devotees. Later, they are caught, they go to jail. Still, there is no shortage of Babas. New Babas are being born, new devotees are being born. They are becoming fools every dayâ??.

He then went on to narrate a story about a Godman and his followers, as the latter duped him. He said, â??So, there was a Baba, a devotee came to him. The devotee was of the same kind of character, which is my character in the show. He said, â??Baba, I am a great devotee of yours. And I have been following you for many days. And I think of you, youâ??ve changed my life. You have given me a very good blessing. I want to give you Rs. 25 lakhsâ??. After he left, Baba told his devotees, â??He was a great man. He came to meet for the first time, gave Rs. 25 lakhsâ??. The second time he came, he gave Rs. 50 lakhs. The third time he came, he gave Rs. 1 croreâ??.

He further mentioned, â??The fourth time he came, he gave Rs. 2 crore. Baba said, â??He is a great person. Call him, I want to talk to himâ??. So Baba told him, â??What do you do?â?? He said, â??I have a great scheme. This is a pyramid scheme type, someone must have told you. And if you put money in, it doubles at the end of the month. I have so much money, Maharaj. And because I am your devotee, I wanted to offer itâ??. Baba said, â??If I give, will you double it?â??. Now Baba was sitting on a pile of black money. He called him and gave him Rs. 500 croresâ??.

The actor shared that the guy took the money, and never came back. â??So his investment was only Rs. 2-2.5 crores. He took that Rs. 500 crores. Baba can't even go to the police because it was black money. So schemes like this, at different levels, all kinds of schemes are going on. At small levels, you will see in the villages, such schemes are there, that you invest this money, this will happen, invest here, that will happen. You have to be extremely careful of not falling into such trapsâ??, he added.
